Position Overview

Job Summary:
Our Speech-Language Pathologists perform speech assessments for new students (3-year evaluations and initial assessments), collaborate with Crossroads staff, consultants, school districts, and families, and plan and implement daily speech programming including development of speech and language goals, objectives, and service delivery. They also review Progress Reports for each student quarterly, program student augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems, train staff on the proper use of AAC systems, and supervise SLPAs in the completion of their responsibilities.

 

Full Time: Monday-Friday

Salary: Starting at $72,000 or more dependent on experience.

SIGN ON BONUS:

  • $4,000 over a 12 month period

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Massachusetts licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Knowledge and experience with ABA-based treatment of autism.
  • Knowledge and experience with the programming and implementation of AAC systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the supervision and safety of assigned students.
  • Maintains CALM certification and uses CALM techniques to maintain safety.
  • Maintains proper credentials.
  • Documents performance feedback as necessary.
  • Meets deadlines and ensures SLPAs do the same.
  • Completes daily session notes, attendance, and Medicaid sheets according to protocol.
  • Attends extra-curricular activities, including events that may be held outside of school hours.
  • Assists students with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) including showering and toileting.
  • Oversees the organization and the presentation of student speech programming and materials.
  • Participates in field trips and community outings (as needed).
  • Drives students and staff to various community locations (as needed).
  • Participates in swimming activities (as needed).
  • Can lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Acts as a team leader and positive role model for all staff and students.
  • Performs other duties as requested by supervisor(s).
  • Adheres to the Crossroads Employee Handbook.
  • Helps maintain a well-educated workforce through periodic trainings.
  • The ability to successfully pass CALM training and perform physical movements such as pivots, knee squats, shuffling backwards and forwards, stand from a kneeling position while supporting student weight (without pushing off the ground/stabilizing hands on the ground), remaining in kneeling position for an extended period of time, and a descending lunge while carrying weight.
