Position Overview

Physical Therapy Services Coordinator

Crossroads School, in Marlborough, MA is a private, nonprofit school dedicated to transforming the lives of children with autism using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. We are currently seeking to hire a Physical Therapy Services Coordinator (PTSC). The PTSC is responsible for developing and implementing Physical Therapy goals and objectives for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to meet students’ needs. The PTSC also supervises the Physical Therapists (PT) and the Adapted Physical Education (APE) Teacher. In addition, the PTSC ensures student progress is evaluated systematically and that the findings are used to improve programming. The PTSC provides both direct and consultative Physical Therapy services. Throughout all programming, the PTSC demonstrates an understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and uses ABA-based techniques in service delivery.

 

Schedule: 7:30am-3:00pm

Compensation: $80,000k per year

 

SIGN ON BONUS:

  • $4,000 over a 12 month period
    • $2,000- After 6 months of employment

 Requirements:

  • Masters or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy
  • Current state license in Massachusetts and the Board of Allied Health Professions.
  • 2+ years’ clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Implements Physical Therapy programs and behavior management procedures according to student specific IEPs, Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Behavior Management Plans (BMPs).
  • Performs in-depth assessments and evaluations at least every three years for students on caseload.
  • Plans and implements daily physical therapy programming.
  • Develops physical therapy goals and objectives and service delivery for IEP for students on caseload.
  • Writes and reviews quarterly progress reports.
  • Monitors student progress and notifies supervisor as necessary.
  • Communicates information (e.g., lack of progress, family concerns) to supervisor and the Clinical Director.
  • Communicates with Teachers and EBSCs regarding student specific physical therapy needs.
  • Collects data and conducts daily analysis for assigned student’s programming.
  • Maintains written and direct communication with parents with regard to physical therapy.
  • Coordinates schedule to accommodate Student Day and IEP meetings.
  • Assists Administrative Directors with the development, implementation, and evaluation of all protocols and procedures as requested.
  • Interviews potential staff as requested.
  • Conducts observations/assessments/intakes of potential students as requested.
  • Ensures PT’s and APE Teacher adhere to Policies and Procedures of the organization.
  • Ensures performance evaluations of PT’s and APE Teacher are completed biannually.
  • Supervises PT’s and APE Teacher in the completion of their responsibilities.
  • Oversees weekly PT/APE Department meetings and monthly Related Service Department meetings to ensure consistency across departments.
  • Documents performance feedback to PT’s and APE Teacher as necessary.

Other Requirements:

  • Current CPR and first aid certification preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines.
  • Mastery of computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must possess a caring and compassionate demeanor.
  • Hard-working and punctual.
  • Interest in building a career in a nonprofit service for individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Experience with special needs preferred.
  • Proof of immunizations required.

Pay Range
